Strawberry season has arrived and I am so excited to share this amazing strawberry cake with you. I just love visiting local produce stands and getting ripe and ready to eat strawberries straight from the field. I’ve been buying them like crazy lately!
This delightful strawberry cake has turned out to be one of my new favorite strawberry desserts because it so delicious and most importantly, so easy to make. I made this cake for Mother’s Day and everyone loved it! It was definitely a crowd pleaser and so good with all of the fresh strawberries.
The best part about this strawberry cake is that it is so easy to make and requires basic ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen. The cake batter only takes about 10 minutes to whip up. All you need is some fresh strawberries to top it off!
I love how the fresh sliced strawberries peak through the top of the cake that is sprinkled with turbinado sugar – which adds a sugary crunch and makes it a little extra special. Using buttermilk in the batter makes this cake super moist and tender.
Serve this strawberry cake with a dollop of homemade whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. This cake would also be wonderful simply dusted with powdered sugar. It really is such a beautiful, yet simple cake.
This strawberry cake is the perfect dessert for any occasion – especially for quick and easy entertaining. If you enjoy fresh, ripe strawberries, you will most definitely love this strawberry cake.
